My little Man turns 5

Wow, it seems a little weird to me that I even typed that in the title line. I cannot believe that my little man turned 5. People always says that time will fly by but you seriously don't realize just how fast it is. He is  getting so big so fast. I soon will be getting him registered for kindergarten and that blows my mind away even more. We had the funnest party ever. He had so many ideas and we just kind of rolled with it and did the best that we good. He went through lots of different theme ideas for this one, things from mind craft, to power rangers, and a few others, but ultimately he settled on a ninja party, that later kind of turned into a Ninjago party, which was okay with me because Ninjago is just lego ninjas, and who doesn't love legos.... right?

We wanted a fun way to document all of the kids that came to the party so Matt helped me print off this large pagoda and we turned it into a photo booth. The kids had so much fun with this. Some of them got really into with the mustache props and the signs, others where not sure what to think about it but still were very good sports.

I just realized that my pictures are so very much out of order but I will explain them all as I go so you can get a feel how this super fun party went. This was our desert/ fushi tray. Yes I typed that right, this was our FUN Sushi or Fushi. All edible and all made of super good treats. The kids loved this. The octopus sushi roll was the big winner with the sweedish fish wraps coming in close second.

This was the table they went to first when they arrived at the party. There was chinese ninja stars for them to color and a head band with the chinese symbols for Strength, Courage, and Friendship painted on them.

This was Eli's totally awesome cake. OKAY, so it wasn't that awesome. All the ones that he really wanted where really ummm out of my league but I found this super cool Paper Craft pagoda and Eli thought it was pretty cool to, so we went with it. Don't let the name decieve you, Paper Craft is SOOOOOO not as easy as it looks. When Matt printed it off and we read assembly time was like two and a half hours, we both just kind of laughed. It's paper right, how hard could this really be?    WAY HARDER THEN IT LOOKS. It did take us all of the two and a half hours, plus a little more I think. It was ridiculous, but we had a late night of visiting, laughing, and doing.... yes..... a simple paper craft.

This is just a picture of the kids coloring their ninja stars and wearing their ninja head bands.

Next we headed downstairs and used our ninja stars they had just colored to hit down the serpentine bad guy targets.

Of course we couldn't forgetting the breaking of the board. Testing your true ninja strength. We had bought some very thin balsa wood, or at least we thought it was pretty thin. This actually ended up being a bit more of a challenge then we thought. But we did make it work.

Then we played 'pin the beard on Sensai Whu'. This actually turned out really well. The kids where laughing at all the interesting  places that Sensai's beard ended up.

We also had made some very cool ninja swords made from larger paint sticks that had been painted silver and black and had some red ribbon around the base. Anyway, they used their ninja swords to break the Ninja Star pinata. These are always a huge hit. The kids all waited ever so patiently. None of them where actually able to break it. Uncle Justin ended up helping the cause a little.

Some of the fun we had with the photo booth.

Eli and his Ninja Cake. Happy Birthday buddy. We sure do love you.

Eating Fushi and cake and ice cream while watching an episode of Ninjago, waiting for parents to come and pick up the kids.

A little free time at the end where they were putting their ninja swords to good use.

A group shot. Not the best, but what can you do with that many 3-6 year olds.

Eli and Grandpa and Grandma Hatch

Brooke and Justin having way to much fun with the photo booth props.

Little man Ethan enjoying the fun of the booth.

And Lara too. Eli sure does have a lot of people who love him very much.

Eli sitting with his presents. Like I said before, he has a lot of people who love him very much and he was very much spoiled this birthday. Such good friends and family. I don't know what we would do with out them.  One happy little boy here.

A picture of some of the decorations. I should have taken more of the decor, but I forgot. So this is about it for the decor of the party. But it was super fun to create this party and I think it turned out very well.

Eli is the most kind, and loving 5 year old I know. He is very concerned when he knows that somebody is upset or that somebody does not feel well, he will be there to be the caring loving type. And he is also the smartest little boy that I know. He is reading most anything he can phonetically sound out. He can count to a hundred with just very little prompting from me. Knows all his colors, All his ABC's, all the letter sounds, Can write all of the abc's both upper and lower case, with the exception of a few backwards b's or d's but he usually catches himself and will say, "mom, that doesn't look right, did I do it wrong?" so he will have that one mastered soon to. He makes connections with things that just astound me. And he has the best imagination in the world. He will draw me a picture. Just something simple really and then I will start to tell him what I think it is or what it looks like to me and he will say "mom, that's not what it is, or mom, that's kind of what it is" and then he will proceed to tell me a FULL length page story about what is going on in his drawing and why everything is the way it is and where it is. A full story from just one little picture. So when I say he is smart, that doesn't really do it justice. And he is the best big brother. He is very concerned about his little brother and is really good to include him in things and lately he has been trying to teach him things in stead of just getting mad at him if he doesn't do something right. Everyday he just amazes me a little more. I don't know where we would be without him. I learn something from him every single day. Aren't we suppose to be the parents and he is suppose to learn from us? We love you Eli, more then anything and you fit in this family so well.
