California Vacation Day 5

Our last day was so relaxing. I love the beach and so dearly wish that we lived a bit closer to one. So I thought that Eli loved that water, but I must say, Ethan has a much greater love for it. He was completely in love with the water and the sand and playing. Everything that has to do with the beach, he was loving. We went to the Santa Monica Pier to enjoy our last day. While we were there Matt and I went to Bubba Gumps shrimp factory. We have been to this pier a few times and have always wanted to go try Bubba Gumps, but we never have. So Eli, having such a serious love for shrimp was super excited to eat here.

We had a really hard time keeping Ethan away from the water. He was constantly crawling to the water as fast as possible. I thought the cold would slow him down, but not at all. He would get his feet in the water and stomp and splash. He just wanted us to let him get down and play in it. But it was super cold, and the tide was very high. We did not dare let him sit down in the water. So he just had to deal with his stubborn parents holding his hands.

I sure do love my boys. And I love this picture.

His chubby little cheeks and his precious little face.

I got so many looks and stares and whispers because of my utter lack of parenting apparently. Ethan was on a mission to get to that water and I thought it was about the cutest thing ever to see how fast he was crawling off to the water. And I didn't really stop him, Matt was close at hand and I was video taping or taking pictures the whole time, But some of the looks that the parents gave us, like, Wow, your just going to let him keep going? or He is getting super close to that water? . I suppose they didn't think we were watching him or something, but believe me, we definitely were. It was just to cute to resist.
My handsome boys showing of our Cali 2011 sign in the sand.

I really just can't stop laughing at these pictures. He was so determined to get to the water. He just wanted us to let him play in it and he would get so mad when we would stop him.

A boy on a mission to build the perfect sandcastle. He needed a little bit of water to make it pack a little better.

Eli wrote his name in the sand. He was so proud of it.
Eli in the process of writing his name.
Ethan, once again loving life and getting totally down and dirty in the sand. He is definitely completely a hundred percent boy. He loves the dirt and he loves to lay full body in it.
