When did I get old enough to have a 6 year old? I really can not believe how fast this kid is growing up. He is so big and it seems like only yesterday he was just my little tyke learning how to crawl. Eli is the smartest, most compassionate, energetic bundle of energy out there. He excels in reading and almost everything academic. He is in the top of his class in all areas. Soccer is his favorite sport to play and he is super excited that the season will be starting soon. This year was a little harder to take pictures of. And I feel kind of bad that I did not do a better job at being able to document this. Typically he has a themed birthday party, and this year was the same but the theme he chose was swimming. I was all geared up to snap a bunch of pictures, and with how many little boys we had there, I ended up supervising in the water to help keep and eye on little kids. I should have taken a picture of all of the kids outside of the pool by the Lehi legacy center sign but, like I said, it was crazy and that didn't happen. So I will just have to make sure and document well when it is all scrap booked.
He actually had a few parties this year. Not intentionally, it just happened that way. We decided to do something more of a family party the weekend before and then had a friend party the weekend after his birthday. Plus we kinda did just our little family thing on his actually birthday seeing as how it was right in the middle of the week.
This picture is from the first party that we had. It was mostly family and few really close friends. We played some of Eli's favorite games, pictionary, and uno, and we had cake and ice cream and opened up some presents. The night was all about Eli and doing all of his favorite things.
This was his big present from mom and dad. He has been wanting one of these forever. I told him once he mastered his bike he could have one. It didnt really take him that long to do that, but saving it for is birthday was just an added bonus.
He got some lego sets from Grandma and Grandpa Hatch, which of course always makes him all smiles. He absolutely loves legos.
We kind of did a combined thing with him and his dad because his dads birthday is on Halloween and it always kind of gets overlooked because of the holiday. So we had a cake for both of them and we were able to celebrate a little for both of them.
Two different cougar cakes. Grandma and Grandpa thought it would be funny to make the Y out of bright red candles.
Ethan helped me make Eli's cake before the party. As you can see, he was enjoying every minute of the clean up process. Maybe a little more then he should have. LOL he is sure is such a cutie. I love having his help.
This was Eli's cake for his friend birthday party. Because we were doing a swimming theme he went with a finding nemo cake theme. I thought it turned out kind of cute. It was all his idea and he had a blast helping me make it.
The party was very simple and easy. We had pizza and cake and ice cream at the house. Then we opened presents. The party started at the house and then we loaded them up and took them all to the Lehi Legacy Center for the actual party. Are we crazy? 8 little 5-6 year olds swimming..... what were we thinking? We were thinking it would be awesome, and well.... it was.
The kids chowing down on the pizza.
Eli opening some of his presents.
The whole crew, well at least the ones that made it to the house. Some of them met us at the pool. Some of Eli's friends that came. Landon Sagers from our ward, Haley and Jackson Bryce friends from Saratoga, Maren Gonazles friend from Saratoga, Smith from school, and Luke from school (although he met us at the pool), Jason Potter lifelong friend, Sam Verbecky from the ward.
The lighting of the cake.
Eli was sure well loved and has some pretty awesome friends. Lots of Legos, his friends must know him so well. LOL
His best est friend of all.
We went to the pool after this and I didn't get any pictures at the pool, which is really sad to me, but it is what it is. He had a great party and the kids all had a really good time swimming.
