This family vacation was a little different, but it was so much fun. One of my favorites in a long time. We didn't go to some big fancy National Park, not that those aren't beautiful and fun in the own nature, but this was just different. It was a resort out in the middle of no where that was just beautiful and it worked for our family so well. Each family had there own little cabins to sleep in, but then there was a nice covered pavilion that we were all able to do all of our cooking and eating and activities. And there was NO ONE else around us. Just our family. No neighbors or other campers. We had the whole place to our selves. That was even more nice. Because the kids just ran all over the place. And it didn't really worry us to much because there was no one else around. Kathy had planned so many fun things for the kids to do that there was definilty not a boring moment. Plus there was just a ton of space for the kids to run and ride bikes, and scooters, and what ever else suits there fancy.
Kids made parachutes.
There was a pond just down the road that had paddle boats, and kayaks and other water toys that were all at our disposal. The kids spent lots of their time playing in this pond. Eli loved the kayaks and was way to brave. But he was always good about putting his life jacket on.
Many trips around the lake on paddle boats.
Lots of competitions to see who has better balance.
And the evil plotting of how to get certain kids thrown in ACCIDENTALLY in to the lake. LOL
There goes that ACCIDENTAL thing I was talking about.
Absolutely beautiful view that we got to see for a few days. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of time to visit and lots of time for the kids to just play and be kids. They got to catch up on visiting with the ones that we don't get to see very often.
The kids enjoyed breaking a pinata. Who doesn't enjoy a good pinata.
Just had to get a picture of all the bikes that we had up there with us. I do believe almost all of us had brought our bikes with us and we had some fun bike rides. The kids did lots of this.
We also made some recycled boats out of noodles and anything else that we could come up with. Then we raced them down the river. Another favorite activity of the kids.
And then back to his Kayak. I do believe this is were he spent any time that his dad or I would go sit down and watch him. He loved this. I don't know if it is because he felt big because he could do it all by himself. Or if it was because he really just enjoyed it, but he spent lots of time in this thing.
A big THANK YOU to Kathy and her family for planning such an amazing family vacation for the year 2013. It was very much enjoyed and always a pleasure spending a few days with my amazing family.
